February 04, 2012 Fireboats

September 12, 2010 Fireboat 343 in service
Fireboat 343 went in service at 0900 on September 11th 2010. The boat left its berth at pier 40 at 0830 and responded to the WTC site and the crew stood on the bow for a moment of silence.

June 23, 2010 New Boat is in New York
Training is going on and will continue to about August 1st. After that, 343 will be in service at Marine 1.

August 07, 2009 Check Us Out Again
Many new additions have been added. Plane Crash, Medal Day, Life Saving Awards, member stops person on GW Bridge from jumping, updated Marine 1 history, and new photos. If you have any history about Marine 1, we would like to here from you.

January 06, 2009 New Boats
Click on the link above "Track Progress of New Boats" then click on 343, this is the first of the new boats under construction.

December 08, 2008 Sorry its been a while
We are at our temporary quarters in pier 40. New house is on schedule. Should be done at the end of 2009. Check photo gallery to see progress. Firefighter Tim Moynihan had a huge rescue, you can read about it in," In the News section". Also in the "In the News section", under Life Saving Awards, are some of the stories of rescues.

February 10, 2008 Marine 1 to get New Quarters
We waited to make this announcement until the process started. A temporary quarters is under construction at pier 40. We are told we will move in April and be in this quarters for 22 months. During this time a new pier and quarters will be built at pier 53. We will keep you updated with photos as construction proceeds.

November 19, 2007 Marine 1 Firefighter Honored
Augie Tufano was recently honored by Firefighters Quarterly for the rescue of a woman in the Hudson. He also recieved class A from the Fire Department. You can read more about it in the "In the News" section.
